Grace Ong Yan taught the seminar Branding Architecture at Philadelphia University. It provided an opportunity for students to deepen and extend their understanding of brand architecture as a particular branch of historical research as well as contemporary practice and experimentation.
Branding was questioned and discussed as a phenomenon that promotes institutions through the medium of architecture. Contemporary and historical case studies, as well as theories of media and consumer culture were studied, towards cultivating a critical understanding of branding. the student projects shown here demonstrate individually-driven branding designs.
